Our Secondary School Education Program (Program B) mainly trains educators for junior and senior high schools and secondary schools. Each major (Japanese, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, Music, Fine Arts, Health and Physical Education, Home Economics, Technology, English, and Calligraphy) offers a broad curriculum so that students gain an integrated understanding of junior and senior high school education overall. Students gain the advanced specialized subject-area knowledge needed for junior and senior high school education, and they develop practical teaching skills so that they can handle the various educational issues that arise in schools settings.

Education for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
Education for Individuals with Learning Disabilities
Our Special Needs Education Program (Program C) trains educators for schools for individuals with physical or mental disabilities and educators specialized in teaching individuals with speech disabilities. The three majors (Education for Individuals with Hearing Disabilities, Education for Individuals with Physical or Mental Disabilities, Education for Individuals with Speech Disabilities) emphasize the potential and specialization for handling developmental disabilities ranging from minor to severe.

 

  School Healthcare and Health Education
Our School Healthcare and Health Education Program (Program D) trains school nurses. In addition to studying school healthcare to be able to handle student health issues as the school nurse, Program students learn the basics of school health education and health consultations so they can promote preventative education.

Our Liberal Arts Division was established more than a decade ago. Drawing on its fine record, the Division trains human resources who can play leadership roles in addressing the needs of todayfs lifelong education society, where we are faced with such issues as the advancement of internationalization and IT, the development of science and technology, the need for mental health education, the worsening of environmental issues, and the importance of expression and communication.

Our Environmental Comprehensive Science Program (Program F) offers three majors: The Environmental Education Major looks at the relationship between environmental issues and socioeconomic systems and human lifestyles. The Natural and Environmental Science Major looks at the relationship between the natural environment and life, the life-nurturing global environment, and human-made substances, science, and technology. The Cultural Properties Science Major probes the relationship between human history and the environment through our heritage of cultural properties.

The program offers the following five majors: Music, Fine Arts, Calligraphy, Expressive Arts and Communication, and Lifelong Sports.
