Team for Training Teachers and Transmitting Research Overview

The Teacher Training and Transmission Team is responsible for spreading the research outcomes of the Education and Evaluation teams far and wide so our research can help schools across Japan and internationally. Research outcomes include a set of information necessary to design lessons aimed to foster competencies (e.g. lesson plans, lesson materials, videos, list of questions, activities, post-lesson interviews with students, students’ self-assessment results), CMCD database with which users can retrieve the said information online, evaluation methods for each competency construct, and studies on student agency. Moreover, the Teacher Training and Transmission team makes most of the research outcomes available in both Japanese and English through various media including our lesson video streaming service 21CoDOMoS, our website, symposiums, teacher training sessions, lectures, and research reports.

The Teacher Training and Transmission Team is particularly focused on the teacher training sessions held by the Board of Education and Education Training Centers. It proposes how to systematically select teacher training materials and present lesson strategies to foster competencies through practice. The Teacher Training and Transmission Team also proposes how to deliver the lessons that students aspiring to become teachers take in teacher training schools.
