This project’s aim is to contribute in the building of sustainable local communities by connecting environmental learning and local revitalization in the Tama River Bioregion (the bioregion of the Tama River basin). The purpose of this project is to contribute to environmental learning and human resource development in local communities by cultivating the abilities of our students, especially those who are aiming to become educators, to explore nature and cultures and communicate with each other and conduct ecomuseum activities in the area.

　This project is designated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a Support Program for Contemporary Educational Needs (Contemporary GP) for the Year 2005. It is designed to revitalize higher education as a whole by selecting and supporting projects that are considered especially well-thought-out among the many educational reform projects submitted by universities. We are planning to conduct our project for a period of three and a half years, from October 2005 to March 2009.
