| SimRiver is a simulation software package developed
by Dr. Shigeki Mayama of Tokyo Gakugei University and his coworkers.
Users can study and understand the relationship between human
activity, river environments and diatoms easily. |
| The video "Diatoms" is composed of
three parts that can be viewed on the website or after down
loading. Part 1: Introduction and collection of diatoms. Part
2: Preparation of permanent slide. Part 3: Observation of diatoms.

The
classes using SimRiver in Japan range from junior high to graduate
school, and report favorable results. We want to introduce educational
programs, student reactions, e.t.c. in response to user's reports
from around the world.
