The characteristic of this project is its method of not limiting ecomuseums, but rather to expanding places of learning through mutual interactions.

　For example, Musashino Plateau, Tama Hills, Sayama Hills, Tama Rural Area, and Okutama Region each has a characteristic natural and cultural environment and each area can be considered to form a unique ecomuseum. However, by establishing a broader area of learning such as the Tama River Bioregion, we are able to build a network of ecomuseums that organically connects each core ecomuseum and works on local revitalization in a broader area.

　Tokyo Gakugei University has already made arrangements with neighboring Koganei City, Kodaira City, and Kokubunji City and is regularly holding local partnership council meetings.
